The End of the Year is Here!

Going into 2022, we talked about hope in the year ahead, particularly after the challenging year before. For many, this year held its own set of challenges from weather disasters to economic challenges and everything in between. I am however, always in awe of the Australian spirit and the sense of community.

It has been a pleasure to walk alongside our community in supporting community causes, regenerating community activities, and providing much needed services and support. This year we celebrated a second Centenarian in our local community as testament to the importance of connection, belonging, and community in overall wellbeing.

So, as I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas and New Year break, I would like to leave you with a sentiment to take into the year ahead from the poem, ‘Let Everyday be Christmas’:

“Christmas is forever, not just one day. For loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself.”

Sincerely, Cristelle Govender, Centre Manager
