Closed Under The Enforceable Government Order

Closed Until Further Notice To Protect Our Community

Dear community,

Due to the Enforceable Government Order regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) The Place: Charlestown Community Centre will be closed until further notice.

We believe that it is important that we look after our staff and community as best we can to ensure their wellbeing by limiting exposure to face to face contact. We also wish to do everything possible to maintain our ability to recover once the current situation improves.

Staff will be working remotely so we will be available to assist you where we can. Please call us on 4032 5502 / 4032 5503 / 4032 5505 / 0439 848 372.

We understand that this is a very difficult time for everyone, but we ask you to please follow government advice, stay at home (where possible), stay safe and look after yourself and others.

We will continue to follow government advice and will keep you updated on things as we progress through this period.

All the best & take care.

The Place is proud to be the first community organisation in NSW to take part in the NSW Device Bank Pilot Program, supporting more people in our community to get connected and build confidence online. Through the program, we helped allocate 30 refurbished laptops to local people in our community, including seniors, carers, people with disability and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Participants receive 12 months of free data, digital skills training and IT Support to help them make the most of their device. Delivered by NSW Telco Authority in partnership with WorkVentures and Good Things Australia, the NSW Device Bank Pilot Program is part of the NSW Government’s Digital Inclusion Strategy. The program helps bridge the digital divide by giving people access to the essential technology, connectivity and support needed in today’s digital world. We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity for our local community and want to thank everyone who made it possible.
